What is ASTM A182 grade F51 material?
duplex stainless steel
The Duplex F51 Flanges have carbon, chromium, manganese, molybdenum, nitrogen, nickel and phosphorus in their chemical composition. The flanges are used in pressure systems and in valve fittings. The Duplex 2205 Slip On Flange Ratings differ according to the dimensions and standards.
ASTM A182 F51 is a duplex stainless steel that offers a high resistance to general , pitting, stress and crevice corrosion, as well as a high mechanical strength and good weldability.
The design minimum temperature for ASTM A182 F51 without impact testing is -60°F [-51°C]. At moderately elevated temperature, this steel may develop embrittlement after servce, thus, the maximum design temperature is generally restricted to 600°F [315°C].
